The Navy will this year offer a glimpse of its growing might in the sea at the Republic Day parade with models of destroyer, IL-38 reconnaissance aircraft and a UAV positioned atop a globe showing the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
"In keeping with the theme of 'Safe Seas and Secure Coasts' for a strong nation this year', the Naval tableau showcases multidimensional aspect of the force engaged in ensuring safe seas in our region, besides securing India's long coast line," Navy officials said here today.

"There is a model of recently inducted Fast Interceptor Craft (FIC) giving requisite boost to coastal security and a Sea-king helicopter which acts as a force multiplier both at sea against pirates and securing India's coastline," they said.
The Naval marching contingent would consist of 144 men and women in their traditional black winter uniforms, led by Lieutenant Commander K Manikandan.
