Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) is one of
the oldest technical institutions in India. Established
in 1940, originally as Delhi Polytechnic functioning
under the direct control of Gov ernment
of India, the college is presently under the Government
of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Delhi Administration)
since 1963 and is affiliated to the University of Delhi
since 1952. The college celebrated its Golden Jubilee
in 1991.
DCE has produced over the past 60 years, approximately
21,000 graduates and post-graduates in engineering and
technology. Amongst the top 10 Engineering Colleges
in India, this college is ranked 2nd for producing relevant
manpower for industries. Delhi College of Engineering
has attained a level of maturity to amply qualify for
being made a Deemed University. The Cabinet Committee
of Govt. of Delhi has approved the Deemed University
status to DCE and the proposal is under active consideration
of AICTE and MHRD, Govt. of India.

The college offers 10 Post Graduate programmes (3 semester
full time or 5 semester part time, day) leading to M.E.
degree in various specialized areas of engineering,
technology and applied sciences. 
Annual Cultural Festival of the Delhi College of Engineering
- TROIKA - Annual Technical Festival organised
by the IEEE & IEE Student Branch. The organizers are
mainly students from the Computers, Electronics and
Electrical Engineering Departments.
MACH - Annual Technical Festival organized by
the SAE, ASME & ASHRAE Student Branch. The organizers
are mainly students from the Mechanical and Production
Engineering Departments.
TECHNODROME - Annual Technical Festival organized
by the SOCCE Student Branch. The organizers are mainly
students from the Civil Engineering Departments. VIRASAT
- Cultural Events organized by SPIC MACAY. ARENA
- Annual Sports meet of the Delhi College of Engineering.
The
student's societies conduct the different co-curricular
activities under the guidance of the staff members.
The Students Association is responsible for all-social,
cultural and literary activities, e.g. college function,
entertainment, debates, essay competitions and exhibitions.
Departmental societies organize lectures, paper reading
seminars, etc.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS - Play a vital
role in achieving the aims and objects of Education
and are regarded here as a cocurricular activity. The
students in the college are provided with enough scope
for taking part in different games and sports. They
are also given chance to organize athletic and other
social and cultural activities so that the students
may come out successful not only in their professional
lives but also imbibe leadership qualities through these
activities.
The college has arrangements for most of the major
games for both boys and girls. In addition to the day-to-day
practice in different games, Interclass, Inter-Departments
and Inter-year matches are also held. The college teams
participate in most of the Inter-College Tournaments
of the University of Delhi. Blazers, special prizes
and certificates of merit are awarded to outstanding
sportsmen, sportswomen and organizers.

Sports complex with Tennis, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball
and TT facilities and Health Centre, 3 football fields,
8 Hostels and 2 canteens.
