The MACademia Soft Corner offers facilities for children in the age group of 10 months to class VIII. There are 3 sections in the institute - The Toddlers Club, The Playschool and The Learning Centre.

The Toddlers Club

This is the place for kids in the age group of 10 months to 4 years. Here the kids are accompanied by their parents. The Toddlers Club offers a comprehensive child development programme. It emphasizes the development of cognitive, motor and communication skills, through structured parent, teacher and child interaction. Parents bring their children to a joyful experience of water, sand, mystery and fun. The sessions which include group activities are for 1 hour 15 minutes. It’s a place where a child can spend some quality time and do activities that benefit everyone, including the parent. Kids at this age have nowhere to go, so this setting provides an ideal learning environment. This division is headed by a principal with formal education background in child psychology, food and nutrition, and curriculum planning.

The Playschool

This is basically for pre schoolers to prepare them for their school admissions. The facilities are totally different from other play schools. Instead of black boards, computers are used to teach the kids. A flashcard with a dog is shown on the computer with the sound of a dog bark to make the effect more real. The kids in general have a better attention span in front of the computer; it’s exciting for a small kid to learn by pressing a button. The actual dog bark makes it an exciting learning process for the child. Kids seem to have been picking up quicker in such an environment. Then the rope course helps to develop group activities and get the kids the concept of sharing. The theatre helps the kids to shed their inhibitions and speak in front of audience. Interaction with the parents is an important part of the institute.

The Learning Centre

The basic concept of the Learning Centre is to be an augmentation programme to the schooling system; it adds value to your child’s school education. The focus here is on theme based learning and the NCERT guidelines are followed. There is no teaching involved, the basic concept is personality development, wherein the kids interact with each other. In this case whatever the child is being taught in school is supplemented at the Learning Centre. Both shy kids and the talkative ones are encouraged to participate. At the rope course, initially, the child feels scared of climbing and trapeze, but then they see their peers doing the same, which encourages them and they feel good about themselves. Situation based learning is given where the children’s spontaneity is judged. The shy kid is made the leader and each child has to follow him/her.

The Computer Lab is liked by every child.. The Apple Learning Series* is being used as Apple has 68% of the education market in the US. Also a new thing is the video editing software, where the children make movies. It’s extremely easy to use and it’s done in a group of six. One kid is the cameraperson, the other is the director, and three others are the interviewee and one an interviewer. Five to six kids work on the same raw footage and in the end there are 6 totally different movies. The basic focus is on group interaction, creativity and personality development.

According to Deepak Garg, Director of the institute, "We are planning to franchise the Toddlers Club, as it's just 7 months ago we started and we need time to settle down. The parents are really enjoying the Toddlers Club, three of us are involved in this venture. We strive to develop early cognitive, motor and communication skills through structured child, parent and teacher interaction."
