Destination Point - Non-stop fun!
Destination Point, Faridabad (Haryana) is one
of the most popular sporting and fun spots around Delhi.
About a couple of kilometres from the Badarpur border,
the bumper-to-bumper drive through the congested highway
is worth a visit…
To set your pulse racing (yourself along with!) is the
popular Go Karting facility to test your real
driving skills with a marshal (sans the traffic police
challans) to guide you and let you have a good test
drive on the serpentine track.
A major attraction is the Manhattan Magic Simulator-
a virtual reality visit to New York City malls and many
other simulated events. Films shown on the life size
screen are well synchronised with spectacular effects
inside the 3 metre long capsule imported from US to
give you a virtual reality roller coaster ride, a mountain
drive, car racing, desert death traps and a flight over
New York city.
There are a couple of Video Games available for
Rs. 10/- per token.
There are two small pool tables and a large billiards
table at Rs.60/- per hour besides an interesting dynamic
Hockey game on the table. For the tiny tots there are
fun boats, bumpy cars and other games. Shooting Guns
- an automated shooting game is popular with the children
and elders alike.
Destination Point is a popular and unique establishment
in itself catering to the taste of Haryana locals as
well as the Delhiite crowd in pursuit of fun and a get-away
from the city. It houses the Nirulas eatery and
a take-away pastry shop, along with the regular snacks
counter and a good pan-shop as well.
The Space Chair- a jhoola like structure is another
attraction for children. For the executives passing
by the area and the frequent visitors, Tropicana
Bar is a popular hangout serving variety of cocktails,
mocktails, and other beverages.
And in case the day has not been to costly an affair
for you (looking at the variety of facilities available
and probably not the price of tokens), you could shop
at the factory priced Webleys, Bonjour, Osh Kosh , Benetton
and many other brands in the offing, right there in
the same complex.
While you drive back do give a look and maybe line up
your car at the 'border' (as a Delhiite has known it
for years!) for the cheapest available in or around
Delhi 'Quarter' or two… Bur remember to take a teetotaller
friend to drive you back home- the Police Check Post
is right there…!
