Institute of Fashion Technology
 National
Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) was established
in 1987 to impart knowledge in fashion and design
management.
NIFT primarily offers 9 diploma courses, which
include 2 Graduate and 7 Postgraduate programmes
in Design and Management. The course duration varies
from 2 to 3 years in which the student has to undergo
several extensive industrial trainings, portfolio documentation,
Craft documentation, etc and finally an extremely comprehensive
industry internship in the last six months.

Knitwear Design & Technology - 2yrs postgraduate

Leather Apparel Design & Technology - 2yrs postgraduate

Garment Manufacturing Technology - 2yrs postgraduate
course on garment manufacturing techniques
Apparel Marketing & Merchandising Management -
2yrs postgraduate course on apparel merchandising
Fashion Communication - 2yrs, postgraduate course
on fashion communication
Fashion Design (Advanced Programme) - 2yrs postgraduate
course for the Fashion designers
The admission to these courses is through a common
entrance test followed by group discussion
and personal interview.
They have eight departments to serve the various
sectors in the Fashion Business, which have the syllabus
very thoughtfully developed and specifically designed
to meet the needs of the Industry.
