Tips
Check out these fashion tips from Delhi based designer
Arti Soni (who has also done part of Anamika's
Indian wardrobe). Maybe there is something over here
that you can work upon and adapt to yourself.
The materials that are really happening nowadays are
shneel and crepe. You can pick up a lot of shneel
stuff in most boutiques and even at places like Sarojini
and Janpath. However be warned that these can look
really awkward on you, if you don't know how to carry
them.
Make up that goes really well with this is the
shimmer look. Chuck your matte finish for the
time being and go wild with the shine. On an evening
out, use shimmer or glitter to highlight your features.
A really cool look is shimmer eyes with mascara and
frosted lips. Buy a few good lip liners since you'll
need them to accentuate the lips or you'll end up with
a pale and ghostly appearance.
Eveningwear also includes a lot of sequins and
sheer stuff. Go out and play the wicked vamp to the
hilt. Steel grey is a really happening colour.
Highlighting is out but hair mascaras are really
in. Go for the wild shades. Use your creativity, there's
a lot you can do with these.
In Indian wear, Chinese collar shirts with long slits
are really in. These look great with churidars as well
as straight pants.
Try short kameez with Patiala Salwars, for that glamorous
look of yesteryears.
And a final word of advice, don't wear something just
because it's in. Try it out first to see if it goes
well with who you are.
