Suribachi

This restaurant, which opened some seven years back as a mid-budget Chinese eatout, has now started offering Delhiites Thai, Malay, Vietnamese and Indonesian cuisine in addition to Chinese in an all-new décor. Being newly renovated and painted with large colourful landscapes with an indoor pond and waterfall with eastern music softly playing in the background it is worth giving a visit.

Suribachi's soups, which are mainly of Thai origin, are priced between Rs 85 and Rs 120. They have tom yam, the coconut milk-based tom kha and a clear vegetarian noodle soup with black mushrooms and the Malay original, tauhu, a vegetarian bean curd and vermicelli soup.

Their seafood menu priced between Rs 225 and Rs 550 offers amongst others ruammitr thalay, a mixed sea food sizzler; kung saam rod, river prawns in sweet-n-sour chilli sauce; stir-fried lobster with chilli paste; fish fillet in Rendang curry and the Vietnamese ca muc xoa, stir-fried squid with pickled mustard.

Their desserts are out of this world, all priced around Rs 75. They have fried lychees, toffee banana, sweet flat noodles, with ice cream.
