Friday
Fever
As
you enter the restaurant, you are greeted with foot-tapping
music and smiles from the friendly bartenders.
This restaurant in Vasant Vihar, which is next
to the famous Priya Cinema, was started in 1996.
The outlet, having a seating capacity of nearly 250,
is the first one by the T.G.I. Friday's group
in India. For an amazing variety of cocktails, chill
out at this exciting place.
The most wonderful thing about this place is the swanky
atmosphere. The décor is really different. You
find interesting memorabilia besides crazy stuff on
walls and ceiling that includes an old bicycle, a paddle,
saxophone, and junk items among others.
Red
and White stripes are a distinctive feature
of T.G.I. Friday's. Right from the awnings outside the
restaurant to the waiters' uniform, everything is decked
in red and white stripes.
The waiters and waitresses are dressed in a unique
fashion with flashy clothes. They wear suspenders holding
'clever buttons' that carry slogans and symbols like
'Wear your Attitude', 'Customer is the Boss'
etc.
The
service is very friendly, with the bartenders not just
serving but also amusing the customers. They
prepare the most exotic mixed drinks (both alcoholic
and non-alcoholic) you've never tasted before. The Mexican
Bar in the restaurant is popular with youngsters
and fun-loving people. Some of the popular mixed drinks
are Friday's Freeze, Pina Colada, Rob Roy, Diaquiris,
Flings, San Francisco, Gold Medalist and many more!
There
are many delicious items on the menu. The world's
best potato skins can be found here. They are spicy
and good. The cuisine is international with an Indian
touch to the menu. Cheese Cake, Friday's Sundae, Mocha
Mud Pie, Chicken fingers, Kid Burger, Fish Nuggets,
Cup of Dirt, Kid Chicken Pizza are some of the delights
served in the restaurant. An average meal for two people
would cost Rs 500-Rs 700 (including drinks). The restaurant's
average sales per day is around Rs 2,75,000, out of
which 70% comes from the bar.
T.G.I.
Friday's is a world famous American restaurant chain,
catering typical Mexican and Italian style of food.
Allen Stilman started it for the first time in 1963
in USA. It has 650 restaurants the world over. Only
three such chain of restaurants are in India, of which
the first one was opened at New Delhi (Vasant Vihar)
in 1996. The other outlet in Delhi is in Connaught
Place, having a seating capacity of 125. The third
outlet
in Bangalore
can accommodate 345 people. They are planning
to open branches in Poona and Gurgaon
shortly.
The restaurant is open on all the seven days
of the week.
