The
Kathak Kendra in New Delhi is Birju Maharaj's
perennial hive of activity from which many of the
new generation of dancers have emerged over the past
few decades.
The Kathak Kendra's policy is to employ dancers of
the Jaipur tradition also. Some of the talented
dancers of the modern era are Uma Sharma, Saswati
Sen and Veronique Azan, a Delhi-based French dancer
who also studied under Birju Maharaj.
This national institute of Kathak dance is a constituent
unit of Sangeet Natak Akademi, offering various courses
for the beginners.

Elementary Part Time Courses:

b) 3 Year Diploma Course (13-22 yrs)
Advance Full Time Courses:
a) 3 Year Diploma (Hons.) Course (16-24 yrs)
b) 2 Year Post Diploma Course (19-26 yrs)
